They rest at an angle with a stand that rotates into the back of the stand so they can be easily hung on a wall to be out of the way when not in use. They will hold a recipe book, or any type of tablet such as iPad or Android device for using online recipes. They are protected for easy cleaning so if you have little hands helping that tends to be a bit messy.
