I have a customer that asked me to build a simple island for her galley kitchen. But she wanted the end caps to mimic her raised door panel cabinets. So I did.

We have woods in the back of our house where our grandchildren love to play. So, with their help, we created paths for them to run and play. I fill the paths with the sawdust to keep the mud down and just to bring a little fantasy to the paths.

Sawdust - I have quite a bit of it each week and found a great place to, well, spread it.

Keep my fingers please

I needed to create a groove in a 1" round dowel. What's the issue with dowels? They roll!

I found this video on YouTube that got me started. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3euVLA2b30&list=WL&pp=gAQBiAQB @crypticwoodworks - He has a great explanation.

But I needed to make some adjustments for my situation

I needed a 7 1/5" groove and I do not have a drill bit that long. So I used a 1" Forstner bit and drill as deep as I could go, about 4". That will hold the dowel steady for me.
Then I setup my router table but quickly figured out I needed a spacer between the dowel and the router fence.
I set up a stop, grabbed my @Microjig GRR-RIPPER and went to work. I still have 8 fingers and 2 thumbs and the project is complete.
